Household waste management involves several components including household garbage, recyclables, green waste, and hazardous household waste.

Household garbage

Garbage collection takes place every second Monday.

For industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings, garbage is collected once a week year-round.

Recyclable materials are collected every second Thursday.

For buildings with 9 dwelling units or more, and for industrial, commercial and institutional buildings, recycling materials are collected once a week.

Green waste

There are twelve green waste collections from spring to fall in both sectors at the same time.

Large items
(Large non-recoverable waste)

There are four collections of large items per year.

Organic waste

Organic waste is collected every Wednesday during summer, from April 6, 2022 to October 26, 2022. During winter, it is collected every two weeks.

For buildings with 9 or more dwellings units, organic waste is collected once a week year-round.

For now, industrial, commercial and institutional buildings don't have access to the organic waste collection service.

You have free access to three ecocentres within the Longueuil agglomeration where you can dispose of various recoverable materials in an ecologically friendly manner, including some that may not be discarded in either the regular garbage or recyclables pick-ups: tires, wood furniture, construction equipment, air conditioners, refrigerators, hazardous household waste, electronic products, branches, peat edges, etc.

Directory of recyclers

The Ville de Saint-Lambert has created a list of places where you can properly dispose of or donate common household items (computers, cell phones, furniture, etc.) in an ecological way.

In 2021, community composters will not be sold.

Residents who would like to start composting at home may purchase a Soil Saver composter for $25 (maximum two composters per household).
