Celebrate winter fun in Saint-Lambert!
Ville de Saint-Lambert invites residents to take advantage of winter fun. Throughout February, a full slate of special activities will be on offer to put some pep into the coldest month of the year and encourage people to get outdoors:
- CANCELED | Contes autour du feu [fireside stories] | Saturday, February 12, at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.: Join storyteller Stéphanie Bénéteau to hear winter tales that will delight the entire family.
- CANCELED | Cardio-fitness for the family | Sunday, February 13, at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.:
- Taffy on snow | Saturday, February 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Treat yourself to some delicious maple taffy on snow at the Village Square ($2).
- CANCELED | Zumba for the family | Sunday, February 20, at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.: Have fun as a family and practice your moves to the sound of catchy rhythms in this Zumba class for all.
- Fat bike: Free trials | Saturday, February 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Take advantage of this unique chance to try out a snow bike with oversized tires, known to fans as a “fat bike.”
- CANCELED | Workshop on traditional Québécois percussion instruments | Sunday, February 27, at 3 p.m.: Discover Québécois traditions by combining songs and percussion instruments such as spoons, bones, foot-tapping, bodhran and “mouth reels.” Let yourself get caught up in the rhythms and take part in a square dance.
- Plaisirs d’hiver treasure hunt | Until Sunday, February 27: Spice up your winter walks as a family through this treasure hunt on the theme of winter. The list of clues is available here.
- Paper fortune teller | Until Sunday, February 27: Want to leave your next activity in Saint-Lambert up to chance? Print our paper fortune teller (a type of origami) and take your chances!
- Crafts at the library | Until Sunday, February 27: Encourage your children’s creativity by picking up one of the small craft bags at the library. With the material and explanations provided, they will be able to make a tuque and a woolen mandala.
- GPS rally: Le Flocon d’Or | Until Sunday, March 13: Go looking for the Flocon d’Or at the municipal golf course in this brand-new GPS rally designed for families with children ages 7 to 12.
- Snow castle challenge | Until Monday, March 14: Participate in the 2022 Snow Castle Challenge (Défi château de neige) by building your most beautiful castle and sharing a photo of your snowy creation. Several prizes to be won!
Public activities
In addition to its special program, the Ville de Saint-Lambert reminds residents that they can stretch their legs outdoors all winter long on the cross-country ski trails and at the outdoor skating rinks and tobogganing hills at Seaway Park and the municipal golf course.
New offer! Snowshoe loans
As of February 5, residents who want to try snowshoeing can borrow a pair at the municipal golf course chalet. Loans are for one hour upon presentation of photo ID (driver’s licence, RAMQ card) during the chalet’s opening hours. The schedule is available at saint-lambert.ca/en/skating-rinks. Snowshoes will be on loan as long as the weather permits.
