Call for submissions | Local artists honoured at the multi-purpose centre
Continuing its initiatives to cast the spotlight on local artists and their art, the City will once again be transforming the walls in the entrance hallway of the multi-purpose centre into an exhibition hall.
Artists representing all styles and disciplines of the visual arts will be able to present their works and make them available for sale, giving art fans and artisans the chance to rub shoulders in a space dedicated exclusively to art.
Call for submissions
The multi-purpose centre (81 Hooper Street) will host exhibitions of works by professional artists in the entrance hallway and the performance hall. This call for submissions goes out to artists working in all styles and disciplines of the visual arts and is intended to reflect our local cultural vitality.
The City of Saint-Lambert will establish the annual exhibition calendar. The exhibitions periods, each lasting four weeks, will vary depending on the needs of the Arts and Culture Division. The City reserves the right to allocate this space according to the projects under way at the multi-purpose centre.
Exhibition rails (56 inches long), hanging wires, hooks, easels, locked display cases and display stands will be provided on site.
Fees: There are no exhibition fees. The artworks will be deposited on consignment for direct sale from the artist. No commissions will be retained on the sales, and all sales will be transacted directly with the artist.
Responsibilities of the City and of the artists
The City of Saint-Lambert undertakes to promote the exhibition and to provide assistance with installation and dismantling and with the identification of the artworks by means of wall labels. The City will film a short interview with the artist to present the exhibition. This interview will be published on the Ville de Saint-Lambert's Facebook page.
The multi-purpose centre is used for a variety of cultural events and private rental functions. The artists must insure their own artwork against breakage, damage, theft, or other incidents. Under no circumstances will the City of Saint-Lambert be liable for damage to the artworks. The artists themselves undertake to cover the costs of insurance, of transporting the artworks, and of installing and dismantling the exhibition. A vernissage may be held, also at the artist’s expense.
